Smile for Smile: Light up the world with Smiles
If you ever talk to my parents, you?ll quickly figure out that they?re not from Texas. My parents grew up in Communist Romania where they constantly struggled to scrape together basics like milk & butter. Access to quality dental care was unimaginable. They endured a lot of toothaches, and a desire to help them repair their teeth motivated me to become an implant dentist. A desire to help those who still live with fewer options that we here in the United States motivated me to found the Smile for Smile Initiative with the mission of spreading smiles and giving back dental care, supplies and education to people in need around the world. So far, we?ve provided dentistry at free clinics in Del Rio and Laredo, supported a hygienist going to Haiti, taught kids in the poorest region of Romania about how to take care of their teeth and provided them with their first-ever toothbrushes. We?ve also partnered with local charities to provide dental care for local San Antonians in need. And when I say we, that includes you! If you?re a patient at Alamo Dental Health, you are part of our Smile for Smile Initiative! Caring for your smile helps us care for theirs!

When fractions of millimeters matter, technology matters
Nowhere is that more true than in the field of dentistry where engineering and art intersect in the creation of functional, strong teeth and beautiful smiles. The distance between good dentistry and failing dentistry can be less than a millimeter. The difference between good and great is often fractions of a millimeter. What that means is that you can?t do great dentistry without great tools. One of the most valuable lessons my Dad taught me growing up was that creating a beautiful final product depends on having the right tool for the job.
