Smile for Smile
Lighting up the world with Smiles
If you ever talk to my parents, you’ll quickly figure out that they’re not from Texas. My parents grew up in Communist Romania. Back then, there was never enough of anything. They lined up before dawn to wait in the cold for butter. They did the same for milk. If you can’t even get enough milk, do you think you can get good dental care? No way! Toothaches were a frequent problem.
Our Smile for Smile initiative is rooted in my family’s history. Knowing the reality of never having enough makes a powerful contrast with our lives now in the United States. I am passionate about helping those who dream of hope and hope for help. I founded the Smile for Smile Initiative with the mission of spreading smiles and giving back dental care, supplies and education to people in need around the world.
So far, we’ve provided dentistry at free clinics in Del Rio and Laredo, supported a hygienist going to Haiti and Guatemala, taught kids in the poorest region of Romania about how to take care of their teeth and provided them with their first-ever toothbrushes. We’ve also partnered with local charities to provide dental care for local San Antonians in need.
When I say “we,” that includes YOU! If you’re a patient at Alamo Dental Health, you are part of our Smile for Smile Initiative! Caring for your smile helps us care for theirs!
New Patient Forms
Hello! We can’t wait to meet you!
Yes, forms are the tedious part of becoming a patient. We know there are a lot of blanks to fill in and boxes to check when you’re “only getting your teeth taken care of,” but this information is actually a really, really important part of helping us take good care of you.
It may not make sense right now why we need to know all your meds or the fact that you have asthma, but, please believe us, we don’t want you to figure out the hard way why we need that information! We are required to have these papers before we can offer any diagnoses or treatment.
